New kid on the block - an update on Carmelita Malbec 2011< back to Our Journal

Our 2011 vintage has now been in barrel for 5 months and is shaping up nicely.

2010/11 was an excellent growing season despite the effect of the Zonda wind (bit.ly/9HvkyB) during the time of fruit set in early summer.

By harvest time in April the grapes were showing good structure and a high concentration of polyphenols giving the wine superb ageing potential.

Carmelita Malbec 2011 is set to be a big, fruity wine! Here’s a sneak preview of early tasting notes:

“Brilliant violet in colour. Sweet spice on the palate is balanced by notes of plums, cassis, blackberries and black cherries. In mouth it is smooth with round tannins and a long silky finish.”

This vintage will continue to develop in barrel and is scheduled to be bottled in September 2012. We’re expecting 100 cases to arrive in the UK towards the end of the year and advance orders are now being taken. Please get in touch to find out more.
