Cabernet Franc 2013

Carmelita Cabernet Franc 2013 is intense ruby red in colour. The bouquet displays aromas of dark berries, cherries and elegant, soft, oaky notes. Sweet and smooth on the palate, this full bodied wine has ripe, round tannins and an elegant and long finish.

Vineyard Located in the Uco Valley, Mendoza at an altitude of 1,085m above sea level. The high altitude, fertile soil and cool, dry climate provide ideal conditions for creating this outstanding wine.
Harvest Hand picked on 25th April 2013
Yield 2.6 tonnes per acre
Winemaking 5 day cold maceration; 7 day post-fermentation maceration; 21 day total maceration period. 9 day primary fermentation performed in a small tank (average temperature 24 - 30°C). Malolactic fermentation in barrel ended 15th July 2013.
Maturation 24 months in Boutes French oak (50% new)
Bottling Bottled on the 6th June 2015. Unfiltered to ensure aromatic integrity. The wine will show deposits after cellaring - decanting an hour before drinking is recommended.
